National Council for
Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) has started its operations from
Ist April, 1996. This autonomous
Council under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department
of Education, Govt. of India, has been set up to promote, develop
and propagate Urdu language. The Council has been designated as
nodal agency for promotion of Urdu Languagel by the Government of
India. In this capacity NCPUL is the principal coordinating and
monitoring authority of Urdu promotion in the country
